School Life
Academic Model at Sphinx Academy
Students meet 1:1 with a dedicated mentor who takes the time to know them deeply and support them in setting and achieving their short- and long-term goals.
Students apply their acquired knowledge to projects, and through the process build skills and habits that prepare them for life after school. They also have opportunities such as field trips, guest speakers, and working with professionals to broaden their perspectives.
Students are guided through a learning cycle that develops self-direction by teaching them how to set goals, make plans, learn, demonstrate what they've learned, and reflect on the process to improve it.
Using these three components, we strive to reach every student and ensure they leave high school with what they need to succeed.

Electives and Extracurriculars at Sphinx Academy
Electives and Extracurriculars at Sphinx Academy are planned based on student requests, interests, and needs, so our offerings change from one year to the next. Our program allows us to give each student the opportunity to explore their interests and curiosity. We regularly schedule curated field trips and classes based on what the student wants to explore.
Students are encouraged to start clubs, organize community service projects, and/or work on their own independent course of study in their interest area.
